Welcome to Saving Well Spending Less!

I’m Ruth and I love saving money on, well, just about everything.

But I didn’t always.  You see,  I also love to shop, which often got me into trouble with my not-so-spendy husband.   Luckily for both of us I finally figured out that the less I spent on things we needed (like food), the more I would have to spend on the things I wanted (shoes!).

I learned how to match current coupons with weekly sale ads and soon went from spending over $1000 a month on groceries, toiletries, diapers, & other necessities to less than $200 a month on those same exact items

And you know what?  Not only is it fun, but anyone can do it.  Even you.

I started my blog, Living Well Spending Less, as a way to hold myself accountable and chronicle my adventure of finding the good life on a budget.  There I write about my life, entertaining on a budget, cooking from my stockpile, spending quality time with my family, and lots of other fun and fabulous frugal living topics.

When I decided to start Saving Well Spending Less, I knew I wouldn’t be able to do it alone.  I enlisted the help of two funny, sweet, & all-around wonderful, very coupon-savvy friends:

Alisha

Alisha is second in command here at SWSL and the resident expert for CVS, Target, Walgreens, Rite-Aid,  & Sweetbay match-ups.   She is one of my oldest friends, and addition to be being one of the sweetest people I know, she is also a coupon queen and a stay-at-home mom.  She lives in Philadelphia, and even with two darling toddlers at home, she is still able to score incredible deals each week, which I’m sure comes in handy with all those diapers!

Jennifer

 Jenny is the Walmart guru behind our awesome Walmart and Jewel-Osco matchup lists.  She rocks it at Walmart every single week and saves a ton of money for her family by price matching and smart shopping.  She is a stay-at-home mom to 4 adorable little ones, and we became friends when we both lived in the Pacific Northwest.  She and her family recently moved from Seattle to Mississippi (talk about a culture shock) & I am so happy to have her join me in the South.

Together we work hard to bring you weekly coupon match-ups for a variety of stores, a very handy coupon database to search for coupons, lots of fabulous online deals and hot coupon alerts, as well as instruction for how to use coupons and our own weekly shopping results each week.

We also have two other wonderful helpers, Marissa & Abigail, who handle our store match ups for Safeway & Fred Meyer (Marissa) and Publix & Winn-Dixie (Abigail), and I am so grateful for such awesome assistance!
