I found out this morning out that TLC’s second season of Extreme Couponing will begin airing September 28th. I watched the preview clip of the second season, and honestly I found it a little disturbing.
I am very happy that TLC’s Extreme Couponing has brought so much attention to using coupons–many of you would not have found this site without the show–but this is not what any of us should want couponing to be about! Not only does it make it so stores will no longer accept coupons (in which case EVERYONE loses!), but in my humble opinion, focusing on excessive selfishness really misses the point completely.
I couldn’t help myself, I had to make a little video:

And here is what I got:

At Publix I spent $43.90 on $127.25 worth of groceries, a savings of 66%.

My friend Jasmine over at Dealicious Finds made some awesome points on why it is so important to use coupons the right way. If you get a chance, read her article here.
But I want to hear from you! What are your thoughts on the new season of TLC’s Extreme Couponing? Did you watch the first season? Will you watch again? What advice would YOU give someone who is learning to use coupons for the first time?
